Back porch fun
The back porch has become our favorite hang out spot. It's not too sunny, it's enclosed (mamas favorite part) and it's the perfect place for snacks and water fun.

Easter 2014
We had a wonderful, and busy, day celebrating Easter today! We went to church, came home to finish preparing lunch, gave the kids their Easter baskets, had lunch, and hunted eggs. What a blessed, full day! We all had a great day and loved watching the kids hunt eggs. Porter kept saying "I'm the best egg finder ever!" I love his enthusiasm! Their Easter baskets were a hit also. Porter got a cowboy gun, a bug net, and some favorite candies (starburst, skittles, sour patch kids) and his first Peeps (he loved them!). Savannah got princess chalk, hello kitty socks, bubbles and some favorite candies (kit kat, sour patch kids, jelly beans). It's hard to believe that next year we'll have another little sweetie to celebrate with!

Spring weekend
We are loving being able to get outside and enjoy this beautiful spring weather. Outside time makes for happy kids, and happy kids make for a happy mama!
We enjoyed our meals out on the porch.

17 Months
Our sweet, sassy girl is 17 months old now. There is so much I could say to describe her at this stage. She is hilarious and opinionated to the max! If she has an opinion on something, she will let you know! She has become quite a picky eater. She loves all fruit, yogurt, pasta, PB&J, cheese, granola bars, graham crackers, toast and pizza. She is not a fan of eggs or any kind of meat. She prefers water or milk over juice or any other drinks. She adores her big brother more than I could really even express. She loves to come and sit in his lap or follow him around. She loves animals as much as he does. They really are best friends! He is the first person she wants to see every morning. She calls him 'brubby'. The wrestling matches are getting a little rougher lately though, yikes! She has learned to climb and loves to explore anything she can. She is adventurous and brave in ways Porter never has been. She is so passionate and emotional! She is incredibly loving and loves to give hugs and kisses. She loves to be outside anytime she can. Her favorite outside toy is the cozy coupe. She sleeps with her pink bunny and a blankie (that is actually a minky burp cloth). She is so cuddly and sweet, at times, and is quite a wiggly little thing. She does not enjoy watching tv shows or movies and is hardly ever still. She loves her baby dolls, a lot! She puts them "night night" and feeds them. We love our sassy little Savannah Joy!

Haircuts and ducks to feed
Horray for some warm weather! Seriously. We have been sick and cooped up and sick of being cooped up around here! Praise The Lord for healing and springtime! We spent the morning getting our big boys hair cut...
Before
After
Then enjoyed a nice picnic lunch and playing at the park. I love this particular park. I remember lots of cook-outs and gatherings there and it's such a nice, relaxing place, to me. There is lots of shade (this pregnant mama does not appreciate large doses of direct sun, hello sunburn. You see, I have that special tint of skin called "glow in the dark", no joke!), ducks to feed (Porter calls it throwing bread at geese. Most people kindly refer to it as "feeding the ducks"), and a playground with swing (that's a make it or break it feature for this family!). We had so much fun. Have I mentioned that we have been dying to get outside?! And Daddy was even able to join us, yay!!
(Since Porter didn't actually eat his lunch on our picnic, he ate it in the car on the way home. Yes, he is eating slices of cheese off of his terribly germy little legs. Pick your battles my friends ;)
Dear Spring, we love you. Please don't leave. We just can't handle much more cold weather!!! Thanks!!
