3 months old

So I'm a little late on the 3 month update, but hey better late than never :) 3 months have come and gone and I can truly say that I fall more and more in love with my little angel everyday! His personality is so much fun! He is smiling all the time and learning to laugh (only small ones for now). He definitely recognizes mommy and daddy's voices. He turns his head to try and find us when we talk to him. He is doing a great job of sleeping through the night (8:30-6:30), which is amazing!! His daytime schedule has become much more routine, which also makes things easier. He takes a long morning nap, a long afternoon nap, and a short evening nap before bath and bed. He's quite a sleeper these days, still sleeping about 16 hours a day. He's still being quite opinionated about where he naps though. He will only nap in his swing or in someone's arms- let's just say he's a little extra loved :) He is holding his head up really well and loves to sit in my lap and look around. Watching him learn about his surroundings and being able to experience things through his eyes is so humbling. It really reminds me to appreciate the small things in life like seeing the sun come through the blinds in the morning and watching the way the trees blow in the wind. Right now each day brings new adventures and discoveries. Spending all day with a 3 month old sure does have a way of bringing out the kid in you again! Happy 3 months sweet boy, Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Sean's 26th birthday, and I'm so glad to have a day to be able to celebrate him and let him know how thankful Porter and I are for everything he does for our family. He works so hard everyday so that I am able to stay home and care for Porter and our home. He always seems to come home at the perfect time on a fussy day to give me a little break. His love for our little boy is so evident in the way he plays with and cares for him. I could not ask for a more loving husband and daddy to our sweet boy. I love you honey!

Early bird gets the worm

I've never been much of a morning person. However, waking up before the sun is much more enjoyable when followed by a slobbery, smiling little boy waiting to see his mommy and daddy! Porter's always the first one up and is so wonderfully excited to see us coming to get him. He has definitely learned that we can't resist that little smile. After he has eaten, he's perfectly content (usually) to sit and swing for a while with his buddy monkey. Such a sweet boy!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day has quite a different feeling now being a mommy. I so much more appreciate my own mom and everything she has done for me! I knew having a baby would be such a sweet blessing, but I never knew I would have fallen so head over heals in love with my sweet baby boy. He stole my heart the moment I met him and he brings so much joy to his mommy and daddy every single day!

Sean has made this first Mother's Day so special! (You set the bar high honey!) He made my favorite breakfast, took on a full day of diaper duty (no diapers for mommy horray!), got me a cookie cake, hasn't let me touch any dishes or messes, killed the ants that decided to take up residence in our kitchen (yuck!), played outside with me and Porter, and finished the day by making me alfredo stuffed shells (still in the works as I sit comfortably on the couch and it smells so good!). Thank you honey, you are truly the sweetest, most wonderful husband to me and daddy to our sweet baby that I could possibly imagine! I love you!

First Baseball Game

Last night Porter went to his first baseball game with Mommy and Daddy. We went to see the Charlotte Knights play the Yankee's farm team (Scranton Wilkes Barre). He loved it!! He is really enjoying looking at lights and trying to figure out new places and things. He loved hearing the noises before the game and managed to stay awake long enough to see the first pitch :) After that, he slept in the carrier with Daddy for the rest of the game. We're loving being able to get out with him and take him places!

2 Months

Today is my sweet baby's 2 month birthday! I really can't express how much I love being his mommy and just how much joy he brings to my life everyday. I feel truly blessed to have been given the responsibility of raising him. I love waking up in the mornings and knowing that I get to spend the day snuggling and going on adventures with him. Granted our adventures are still somewhat limited, but we're branching out slowly :) After finding out his 2 month growth stats, I'm still a little unsure of where he got his size/proportions from. He weighs 11 lbs. 2 oz. and is 24 inches tall, which means 85th percentile for height and 25th percentile for weight...a tall, slim baby seriously?! He has changed so much in these quick 2 months! His best friend is a stuffed ladybug that hangs from his playmat. He loves to hit at her and smiles so big when he can find her- it's adorable! He turns his head to find voices and loves to hear singing- finally, someone that appreciates my hidden talent :) His smiles are so stinking cute but impossible to catch on camera. I try so hard, but have yet to get a good one on camera. They are definitely more intentional now, but he seems to save them for the special times still. He is so very cuddly and loves to hold hands. 6 weeks...what?!?

I truly cannot believe that 6 weeks have come and gone with our sweet baby! It feels like hours ago that I was in the hospital having him and somehow he is 6 weeks old already. He is becoming much more social and stays awake a lot more during the day, which has been so fun! He is making the craziest faces and noises during his awake times. We love this sweet little face...
